Let me introduce our daughter to you. Ashley is a 11-year old who has her own gas powered 1923 mini T-Bucket. She started enjoying the automotive world as a baby. Before she was even born, we built her a 1937 Ford stroller that was built to resemble Boyd Coddington’s Smoothster that we called ”Poohster”. She has made appearances on channel 7 (ABC) five times in the Woodward Avenue Cruise along with two appearances in the Gratiot cruise. She has appeared in several magazines and newspapers. She is the youngest member in a car club in Michigan called “Chicks with Classics” and has been a guest of honor at several other car shows. As a family, we go to car shows weekly both in Michigan and out of state. She has attended the Hagerty car show, the Lions and the Autism awareness shows, the NSRA Kentucky Nationals and NSRA North show in Kalamazoo, MI along with several others. Ashley is always excited to take her car and show it off.
People get a laugh out of her because she is always cleaning her car by wiping and spraying it down.
(Daddy of course showed her how to clean it). She even gets into character by dressing up in a poodle skirt and shirt with saddle oxfords on. She has won several plagues and trophies. This summer at a car show in Traverse City, she was selected for the women’s spirit award which she was very excited to receive. She is very well spoken and will tell you all about her car. She was selected to be part of a group of young kids that were at a car show that actually walked around the show and picked out vehicles for awards using certain criteria’s. The recipients of the awards were very appreciative as the kids walked up to them and asked questions on their vehicle rather then just picking them by color or saying it was a cool car. This past year, Ashley has received sponsorship from Kicker,Mothers Car Products, Classic Instruments, Fairway Alloy, R Creations, Hagerty Car Insurance and Race Ramps.
Our original purpose on getting Ashley involved in the automotive world was to have something that the entire family enjoyed doing together and to keep our future generation interested in the car shows and the old cars. Due to her involvement with people and organizations she is very outgoing and loves to help charities with children. We are currently looking for additional sponsorship to get her more involved in the automotive world. Our future depends on the younger generation and we will continue to promote and bring families together.
The 23 T is powered by a 6.5hp Briggs and Stratton motor, a 5 speed transaxle, operating headlights and taillights and a Kicker sound system with 200watts.
